Ways we can work together

1-1 Therapy

  • Dr Dot believes that there is not a “one-size fits all” when it comes to thinking about improving and maintaining our mental health.

Psychological therapy is for anyone who is struggling with a mental health problem, e.g.

    • Anxiety, worry, work-related stress / burnout, perfectionism

    • Depression / low mood

    • Low self-esteem

    • Loss of identity

    • Trauma (post-traumatic stress disorder and complex PTSD)

    • Relational difficulties (e.g. difficulties with boundary setting in friendships and problems in intimate relationships)

    • Eating and food issues, body image problems and weight management difficulties

    • Grief / bereavement / loss

Dr Dot spends time to individualise care to meet your needs in line with your specific difficulties and experiences to create lasting change.

  • Dr Dot has also also been trained in Transformational Life Coaching. Life coaching can help to empower people with the tools to become more confident and more resilient in life. It can help you to become “unstuck”, reach your potential and create a more meaningful, valued life that you feel excited to live. You do not need to have a diagnosed mental health problem to have life coaching.

    You might feel:

    • A bit “lost” or “stuck” right now and need help to find your purpose / who you are again.

    • Unfulfilled and have a desire to make a change in your life but feel scared to do this alone / need that little bit of extra support/guidance to take that leap!

    • Want to learn more about yourself, understand why you think/do things the way you do, or feel certain ways in certain situations. Personal growth and personal development is for anyone.

  • Dr Dot will offer you a free 15-minute introductory call.

1:1 sessions are priced at £120 per session.

Online Therapy Courses

Downloadable Online Therapy Programmes, which you will be able to work through in your own time, from your computer/mobile phone (on the go or in the convenience of your own home).

If it feels too difficult to work through these online programmes alone, there is the option to work through these alongside 1-1 sessions with Dr Dot - just get in touch to see what availability she has.

(Courses will be announced as they are launched)

Outdoor Therapy

  • Get in touch with Dr Dot if you are interested in meeting up for face-to-face Outdoor Therapy sessions, whether it is for yourself or you and a family member/s. Being outdoors has a way of helping us relax - nature creates a non-judgmental space where we can be ourselves. It is often easier to open up and talk about our life/emotions when we are walking side-by-side rather than sitting facing each other in a therapy room. Overall, the outdoors can be a powerful catalyst for healing and growth.

  • Dr Dot offers Outdoor Therapy Retreats around Scotland for those who enquire so please get in touch as spaces are limited! The retreats are delivered regularly every season (spring, summer, autumn and winter). The day starts off with a beautiful heart-felt yoga/mindfulness session, followed by a psychology workshop. Lunch is provided. The day ends with a walk/hike to get to know everyone even more - we arrive as strangers but leave as friends who we feel we’ve known for years. Dr Dot aims to create safe spaces for people to come together, feel less alone, connect, talk, feel heard and feel supported.

  • Dr Dot delivers Outdoor Therapy Groups for those than enquire. These groups can be tailored to meet the needs of your unique group. These may include low-level walks, hillwalks, open water swimming, sharing circles around a campfire, mindfulness, etc. There may be a specific mental health theme you want to focus on/discuss, depending on the group’s needs and wants.

Training for Teams

Dr Dot is passionate about getting mental health knowledge out into the world and creating communities which are mental health aware and trauma-informed.

Whether you want Dr Dot to come out to present training that you feel your team needs, run workshops for staff within your work place, do mini-workshops for kids in schools/holiday camps, she will build a bespoke package in line with what you need.

Dr Dot’s Commitments – the 8 C’s

For first time in 7 years I now feel I have released myself from being so stuck. I also have the comfort of knowing where to go if it all goes downhill again. It has not been an easy journey to this point but very worthwhile.
